New Stock: Tasmanian Tree Ferns

We have a superb new selection of Tasmanian Tree Ferns, Dicksonia antarctica, now available with trunk heights from 1ft to 6ft.

These are particularly impressive specimens with substantial, chunky trunks, giving them an established appearance from the moment they are planted. They are ideal for creating an immediate focal point in sheltered gardens, woodland planting schemes, courtyards and exotic-style borders.

Our tree ferns are legally and responsibly sourced from managed forestry areas in Tasmania. They are rescued from plantation areas that are already scheduled for logging, rather than being removed from untouched wild forest.

Harvesting is carried out under strict permit and tagging requirements. The official forestry tag remains attached to each plant, providing clear traceability through to the final purchaser.

Before forestry work begins, seed collectors help preserve the diversity of each area. The tree ferns are then removed ahead of the logging operation, after which the land is reseeded and begins its next managed forestry cycle.
