The Lady Palm (Latin: Rhapis excelsa) is a compact yet bushy indoor palm that fits perfectly in bright/semi-bright corners. The lady palm is the best suited of all the fan palms for interior use due to it's sedate growth rate, and compact shape. 

The uniqueness of the Lady Palm is its bamboo-like growth habit that forms from a dense clump of stems, which are topped with upright fronds and lush dark green foliage.

As with many other palm trees, the lady palm requires little maintenance. During the growing season keep the palm tree moist but not sitting in water, (good drainage is important), and apply a liquid feed every 2 to 4 weeks to ensure healthy lush foliage. In winter reduce watering to once every 2 weeks and stop feeding to allow the palm tree to rest.

As a general tip for indoor palms - radiators are to be avoided, keep indoor palms away from such direct sources as this will cause the palm tree to dry out rapidly.
