One of the very few Mediterranean palm trees, the Chamaerops humilis is a superbly durable and hardy palm, and one of the very best in windy, exposed situations.
Its slow growth rate, and it's compact growth habit, means this dwarf fan palm is just about the only hardy palm tree, that keeps so compact. For this reason it makes a excellent specimen in container.
The Dwarf fan palm requires little upkeep, other than a monthly application of foliar feed from mid-April to September and a little pruning back old fronds in spring and autumn.
Try mixing up a dwarf fan palm in an exotic themed border with the Canary Island date palm (Phoenix canariensis) and chusan palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) for a truly spectacular display.
Chamaerops humilis is also known as the Mediterranean Fan Palm or Dwarf Fan Palm
My plants arrived safely today and I am delighted with the quality of the plants and the whole experience of buying from your company. I was a little worried about buying plants on line in case they did not live up to my expectations. But when I took the plants out of their packaging I was delighted with the beauty and quality of the plants. I will definitely buy from your company again in the future.
