The blue hesper palm tree is the perfect choice for those who know that variety really is the spice of life.
One of the most distinctive palm trees available, this spectacular specimen is renowned for its silvery blue fan-shaped leaves.
Also known as the Brahea armata, it is often used to add architectural flair to exotic-themed borders or intrigue to a drab corner of a garden
The blue hesper palm will offer a great contrast due to its striking hue, meaning it can slot in next to more conventionally-coloured palms such as the dwarf fan palm (Chamaerops humilis) or jelly palm (Butia capitata).
To ensure good growth and to retain the striking foliage colour, gardeners should give the blue hesper a bright sunny position and plant in well-drained soil.
The Brahea armata is as with most palm trees faily low maintenance. Look to keep the plant moist (but not waterlogged) through the growing season, this is especially important if potted, and apply a liquid feed monthly through this period to promote strong healthy fronds.
Gardeners who team the Brahea armata with other fine specimens such as the Canary Island date palm (Phoenix canariensis) will be left feeling far from blue.

I received my Brahea palm promptly and in excellent condition. The whole transaction from start to finish was easy and efficient. I would definitely purchase from Athelas plants as they offer a higher standard of service than some nurseries I have dealt with especially in Norwich. |
